The EITA-Smart Cities 2016 is a free event, no charge. Registration for the event is now open

Two ways to register:

• Online Conference Registration: please click the following link to register: Start Registration
• Conference Registration (E-mail): Please complete attendee information (Full Name, Affiliation, Phone Number, and E-mail) and send in. Please send your registration information to: eita.world@gmail.com (The deadline is August 23, 2016).
  

Insurance: Participants are advised to arrange adequate travel and health insurance themselves.

Conference Room Assignments:

The EITA Smart Cities Forum 2016 - (EITA Knowledge and Smart Technology 2016) will be held at [Class Room 4-257, and Class Room 4-265, Maclaurin Buildings (4)], Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (Address: 182 Memorial Drive (Rear), Cambridge, MA 02139).

Directions from MIT main entrance (77 Massachusetts Avenue) to building 4:

• Walk East (parallel to the river) down the main corridor. Along the main corridor the succession of building numbers (you can tell from the room numbers) is 7, 3, 10, 4, 8. When you see rooms numbered 4-xxx, you are in building 4.
  
• Once you get to building 4, take the first corridor to the right.
• Rooms 4-261 and 4-265 are up the stairs, then turn right, to the end of the hall on the left.

MIT Wi-Fi Internet Access:

Wireless connections for guests and visitors of MIT are available through the MIT GUEST network. This network does not require authentication, is not encrypted, and is not intended to access internal resources.

How to Connect: It is easy to connect to the MIT GUEST wireless network with a wireless device. Since there are no restrictions to connecting, your device should be able to "see" the network as one of the open wireless options and connect instantly. If your device can not see the network, contact the IS&T Help Desk for assistance.

• Maclaurin Buildings (4) Coffee Shop (1st Floor).
• Cafeterias near Maclaurin Buildings (4).
• Forbes Family Café. The Forbes Family Café is located within MIT's Ray and Maria Stata Center.
• The Koch Café (500 Main Street, Building 76) - Nested in the heart of the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT on Main Street in Kendall Square.

Hotel Information

Accommodations in the Boston area can be pricey, and depending on when you visit, very hard to find.

To help you plan your visit to MIT, we have prepared the following list of hotels. Please note that some hotels are easily accessible by the MBTA, known as "the T", subway system.

Getting to Campus

Directions to MIT:

The campus map has directions for getting to MIT from the airport, via public transportation, and by car or Hood blimp.

Parking:

Parking in Cambridge and Boston can be expensive and hard to find. Whenever possible, park your car at the hotel and use public transportation to get to the MIT campus. If you must drive to the campus, on- and off-street parking is available for a fee, but most public parking is not very close to the center of the MIT campus. More parking information is available at the campus map website.

Public transportation:

Boston's public transportation system, the MBTA, known as "the T", was the first subway in the United States and continues to be one of the easiest ways to get around Boston/Cambridge.

The closest subway station to campus is Kendall Square on the Red Line. You may also want to consider going to Central Square (also on the Red Line) or taking the #1 or CT1 bus across the Charles River from Back Bay, depending on where you are coming from and your destination on campus.

Getting Around MIT Campus:

The Tech Shuttle provides free transportation around the MIT campus on weekdays from 7:15 am to 7:15 pm. The Tech Shuttle vehicles are accessible to those with disabilities. For the current schedule and information, visit the MIT Parking and Transportation Office website.

Boston Logan Airport

Please note that MIT, some hotels are easily accessible by MBTA subway system.

From Boston Logan Airport (BOS) to MIT:

•  Taxi- Taking a cab is the most convenient way to get to MIT from the airport. During non-rush hour, the taxi ride will take about 15 minutes. During rush hour, the ride could take 30 minutes or more.
•  Subway- From any terminal at Boston Logan Airport, take the Silver Line bus to the South Station. At the South Station, change to the Red Line subway to Kendall/MIT (inbound toward Alewife). The travel time is around 30 minutes, and the ticket costs $2.
